Police Procedures
As a Police Explorer, young adults learn exactly what it takes to be a police officer. Explorers are taught basic police procedures which will give them the knowledge on how to handle emergency calls for service safely and effectively.
Ride Alongs
Police Explorers see policing in action through the unique opportunity to ride along with patrol officers during their shifts. While on ride alongs, Explorers see what it's like to be a police officer on the streets of Las Vegas as they see how and what police officers do on a daily basis.
Our Police Explorers are divided into groups, called phases, based on tenure. Explorers spend at least 6 months in Phases I & II and remain in Phase III until they separate from the program. To advance to the next phase, Police Explorers must pass a written test and practical scenario in addition to a physical fitness test.
